The project
Located in the Saint-Pierre neighbourhood, at the heart of Bordeaux's UNESCO-listed perimeter, this 18th-century apartment received a careful renovation respecting original materials and craftsmanship.
The original terracotta floor tiles were individually removed and the timber joists re-levelled before the tiles were relaid. The walls received a mass-tinted lime render, breathable and compatible with ancient masonry.
The interior joinery was fully restored: woodwork brought back to original condition, broken panes replaced with old restoration blown glass, original hardware refitted. Only the façade windows were replaced with double-glazed units reproducing the original frame profiles.
The application was processed in coordination with the Architecte des Bâtiments de France.
