The project
Built on a dune plot 200 metres from the Atlantic Ocean, this villa combines resistance to coastal climatic constraints with quality interior spaces.
The compact building form reduces surfaces exposed to prevailing winds. The west facade, the most exposed, is protected by natural cedar cladding whose self-protecting properties limit maintenance in the saline environment. The east and south facades open widely onto the garden and terrace.
The interior programme unfolds over a single level to facilitate access and ease the relationship with the outdoors. Five bedrooms, a double-height living room with mezzanine, and a kitchen opening onto the garden make up the main living spaces.
A rainwater harvesting system supplies irrigation for the garden, designed in harmony with the surrounding dune vegetation.
